Oftentimes, I hear comments that scaling is just so easy nowadays with the cloud. You can just add new servers to your load balancer by clicking a button. Is that really all there is to it? Is that the smartest, most cost-effective way to scale your application? Do you need to scale vertically, horizontally, or distribute your workload in a different manner? If you want to handle large amounts of traffic, there is more to it than just adding a new server to the server farm. In this talk we will look at different ways to scale your application based upon different needs and real-world scenarios.
